The Dassault Super Etendard that served with the Argentinian Navy during the Falklands War became a legend when they staged the first airborne Exocet radar-guided missile attack against a ship, successfully sinking the HMS Sheffield, on May 4th, 1982. During May 30th, 1982, an ambitious operation was carried out by a flight of two SE and a group of A-4s, during which, the last argentinian Exocets were fired against the british fleet, and supposedly hit the HMS Invincible. Though the british high command denies the impact, a british marine admits to have suffered wounds during the attack while he was aboard the carrier during the conflict. The depicted plane is the leader of such operation, piloted by Capitán de Corbeta Alejandro Fransisco, who flew with Teniente de Navío Luís Collavino as his wingman. This is also a tribute to all the pilots that fought and lost their lives for their respective country during that fateful war. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
